Te Marautanga Atuatanga

Formation, education, training

Ā, hōmai ana e ia ko ētahi hei āpōtoro; ko ētahi hei poropiti; ko ētahi hei kaikauwhau i te rongopai; ko ētahi hei hēpara, hei kaiwhakaako; kia tino rite ai te hunga tapu mō te mahi minita, mō te hanga i te whare, arā i te tinana o te Karaiti. Epeha 4:11-12

God calls all in the Church to be empowered using their God-given gifts and talents for the mission of the Gospel. Therefore, in Te Manawa o Te Wheke, all those who are called to minister are enabled to learn, be formed, and grow to full maturity in their faith.

Te Wānanga o
Te Manawa o Te Wheke

Those called to formal ministry are invited to undertake formational education and training through Te Wānanga o Te Hui Amorangi or school of learning. This is based in Holden's Bay Rotorua, directed under Te Manutaki, and taught by the Amorangi Kaiwhakaako. The focus of the Wānanga is to form and equip people in their discernment to ordination or lay ministry.

Ngā Kura Amorangi

Every year, a Kura Raumati and Kura Hotoke are held by the Amorangi. Hosted in differing rohe, the kura are normally open to all members of the Amorangi through registration, and generally consist of a number of foci including post ordination and commissioning training.

Te Whakamaru Amorangi

Te Hui Amorangi ki Te Manawa o Te Wheke is committed to actively safeguarding our church, a place where all feel welcome and safe. For every minister and licensed person in Te Manawa o Te Wheke, safeguarding and boundaries education is mandatory. These courses and modules are offered at varying times throughout the year.

Hui Whakawhanaungatanga

The Hui Amorangi is committed to maintaining strong, regular relationships with its Tikanga Pākehā siblings. Together we collaborate in Hui and Kura with the Diocese of Waikato and Taranaki and the Diocese of Waiapu, who both share in historic relationships with Māori Mission throughout ngā Iwi o Te Hui Amorangi ki Te Manawa o Te Wheke.
